Airscape checks for fresh data every 60 seconds, without reloading the page. AQI and pollutant values are atmospheric model estimates from Open-Meteo and Copernicus CAMS, not live measurements from local sensors.

Model output updates on the provider’s schedule, so values can stay the same between checks. Nearby pins use actual town coordinates from GeoNames. Precise location pins remain at your device coordinates, with the nearest named area matched on your device using GeoNames data. The global AQI model uses an approximately 45 km grid (approximately 11 km in Europe); an exact pin does not mean street-level measurement.

We use the US AQI scale: 0–50 Good, 51–100 Moderate, 101–150 Unhealthy for sensitive groups, 151–200 Unhealthy, 201–300 Very unhealthy, and 301+ Hazardous.

Weather comes from Open-Meteo. All pollutant concentrations use μg/m³. Map imagery is provided by Esri; the Street map uses OpenStreetMap. Satellite place names use Esri’s reference labels.
